it was a good day

dogs to the vet: check, clean kitchen: check, walk dogs: check, go to Bloomington and have a great time: check check! I found a bunch of valentine stamps to use with my clay work. wonderful! and then take out sushi at Krogers. I am so happy.

Allyson is coming tomorrow to sculpt. I have been busy applying to shows and she has been scouting some up where she lives. busy. I have to get back to clay. I have ideas that need to be born! and orders to finish. yay!

I have to start living again somehow. for the past year I have lead others to believe I was breathing, but I was not. I was sucking in pain and exhaling weary sadness. it is time to move my thoughts, body, soul and start feeling and searching for joy. I had given up, butI have to find hope.

cabin in the woods

cold cold cold. the deer are moving. I have had a lot of animal traffic around the rabbitville farm the past few days. the birds are visiting the feeder and the rabbits hopping through the snow. yesterday a fawn, or the older version, visited my compost heap looking for something tasty. this morning two full grown deer ran through the pipeline. I haven't heard anymore sandhills, I imagine they are pretty much south now.

I have been kept busy finishing the snowmen. they have been my constant companions. bringing in firewood is my next occupation. Still, I love the warmth. this cabin in the woods is fit for me. it is warm, peaceful, and I love it. the isolation of it saddens me but there is little I can do to change that. it is, after all, a cabin in the woods.

winter

I got out some today. we got about 4 inches of snow and the roads are terrible, so I have stayed home and worked on my snowmen. the rest are in the kiln. I am happy to be done with them. still have to get them ready and sack them, but that is okay. done and done.

quiet here.

Staying Warm

it is wicked cold. I have had my wood stove burning at a roar and loving every minute of that warm wood heat. talked to my Amish contractor yesterday and he is going to see about putting a wood stove in the studio so it will be toasty down there as well. as it is, I am working upstairs in the kitchen...just like the good old days at the Crossing!

the pups are still wanting to walk, go outside and play, be active. they don't stay out long though as it is bone chilling to them, too. still, it makes me appreciate my cozy house when I bustle back indoors.

well, back to my snowmen!

my best friends!

just look at my all grown up puppies!

I'm back

well, it's time to get back to my blog. I have been so sad, I have lived through it. and I learned a lot.

The busy season was incredible. lots of new contacts, new shows and opportunities. I am in the process of applying to several new shows this weekend. it is intense and necessary as the due dates are coming up.

and I have been struggling with updating my technical equipment. I got a new cell phone and I love it. it is a Motorola Droid. I tried MiFi by Verizon and it just wouldn't work with my mac book. back it went but when I tried to install the old modem software I was in big trouble. I finally downloaded a newer version and I am back in business.

I have been accumulating mac magazines and studying them. I have ideas for adding to my iweb site, for enhancing the templates. same for pages, and dvd builder. I am excited about that, and enjoying feeling the ideas come together in my head. I have lots of clay ideas, too! as always, so many things to do and try, so little time. it will be time to get back in the studio next week. I have pending Christmas orders that must be finished. I just needed rest.

I am starting to feel a bit more like me again. my family was hard hit. today I saw an eagle. I have done nothing but cry for days...spirit must have wanted me to know it is time to fly again. okay, I am ready to rejoin the world.
